Cody Rhodes' surprising alter-ego is "presumed dead," claims former AEW star
A former AEW star claimed that current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes' former alter ego had been presumed dead for the past few years. Cody played the alter ego during his time in Tony Khan's promotion.
The former AEW star in question is Fuego Del Sol. The Luchador was a part of Tony Khan's promotion from 2020 all the way until his release in 2023. He last featured on an episode of Dark: Elevation where Juice Robinson defeated him. Fuego was known to be very close with Cody Rhodes as well.
A few years ago on an episode of Dark, Fuego Del Sol introduced another masked luchador, 'Fuego Dos,' which was an alter ego of Cody. The American Nightmare had adopted the look of a luchador and it became a memorable character. One fan on Twitter/X recently recalled Rhodes' alter ego in AEW.
The fan sarcastically asked Fuego Del Sol whether he ever hears from Fuego Does. Del Sol also had a sarcastic answer, as he shared a throwback picture with The American Nightmare and stated that he was "presumed dead."
"He’s been missing since 2022 and is unfortunately presumed dead but I like to imagine he’s finishing stories and is a world champion somewhere out there in the sky!"

Cody Rhodes retained his title in an 'I Quit' match
Cody Rhodes defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles in an 'I Quit' match at the Clash at the Castle PLE. The rivalry between the two got heated when AJ faked his retirement and attacked Cody.
The match turned out to be an enthralling encounter and got more brutal than expected towards the end. In the final moments, The American Nightmare was about to hit Styles with the steel steps while he was handcuffed to the ropes and AJ had to say 'I Quit,' resulting in Cody retaining his title.
Moreover, Rhodes still hit AJ with the steps despite his win and concluded his rivalry with The Phenomenal One. Only time will tell what's next for the Undisputed WWE Champion.
