Condolences to former WWE star and AEW's Chris Hero

AEW's Chris Hero recently shared an unfortunate update about a family member on social media. His mother Mary Lou Bryant recently passed away.

The Knockout Artist was one of NXT's top stars. He worked in the Stamford-based promotion from 2011 until 2013 and from 2016 to 2020. He was released during the pandemic along with other wrestlers. He is currently working as a backstage producer in AEW since 2023.

In a heartbreaking post on X/Twitter, Chris Hero revealed that his mother passed away. She was battling cancer for a 'short' period. In the lengthy note, he wrote about the memories he shared with his mother. He also wrote about the hardships his mother had to go through during that period.

"The last couple years had been extremely difficult for my Mom. Between personal loss, the rapid deterioration of her health & suffocating depression, each day seemed harder than the last. If I'm able to take any comfort in her passing, it's that her pain is gone," he wrote.

Chris Hero thanks AEW President Tony Khan and other stars

Tony Khan is known for helping out his talent during difficult times. He has also taken several steps to help the family after a wrestler has passed away, as is evident in the case of the late Brodie Lee.

In his recent tweet, the former WWE star thanked Tony and other co-workers for cooperating with him during difficult times.

"My boss TK along with my friends and co-workers at AEW for their support, care and understanding (...) I've closed myself off from some friends as of late. Please don't take it personally. I've just been processing it all. I love & appreciate you all," he wrote.

Chris has been strictly involved in a backstage role in AEW and occasionally wrestles on West Coast Pro.
