Jim Ross is surprised by Joe Hendry's NXT debut
This week on NXT, Joe Hendry shocked the world when he showed up on NXT to participate in the number one contender's battle royale for the NXT Championship. Although he was well-received by the fans, Hendry was quickly eliminated from the match. Following the match, he had a confrontation backstage with Shawn Michaels.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross stated that it's surprising to see Joe Hendry in NXT but he hoped that the TNA star makes the most of this opportunity:
"It is surprising. Pleasantly so. I think getting more guys involved and getting more TV time for multiple people is good. I recall some of Joe Hendry's matches back in the day. He's a good talent and it's good that he's got a very solid job because he's got the potential to do really well. [NXT] was good. Joe Henry is a good talent. They've done a nice job there. The NXT people talent-wise, they got a good eye for talent... I think Joe's got a break there. He got a big break. So I hope he takes advantage of it." [From 01:22 to 03:28]
It will be interesting to see if Joe Hendry will make more appearance for NXT in the future.
