Congratulations to AEW star Athena fka Ember Moon
AEW is home to several former WWE Superstars who are also succeeding in Tony Khan's ROH. Athena is one of the top talents in the brand and has carried the women's division through her historic reign. The wrestling world is now congratulating the former Ember Moon for a major career moment.
The Forever Champ began her wrestling journey in 2007 and joined WWE in 2015 after runs in ROH and the indies. After six years with World Wrestling Entertainment, she was released in November 2021. In May 2022, she was signed to AEW and returned to Ring of Honor once Khan acquired the company.
On December 10, 2022, at Final Battle, Athena dethroned Mercedes Martinez to become the ROH Women's World Champion. She has been champion for more than 739 days now, and the wrestling world is celebrating her two-year milestone just today.
Athena last retained her title over Abadon in late October. She will defend against Billie Starkz at Final Battle on Friday night in New York City.
