Congratulations to AEW star Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho is one of AEW's top stars, responsible for lending credibility and legitimacy to the promotion since its foundation in 2019, courtesy of his name-value and experience. The former multi-time world champion recently revealed having reached a remarkable personal milestone with his wife on social media.

Despite his seemingly recent dwindling connection with his audiences, Chris Jericho is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated and versatile pro wrestlers in the world. The 53-year-old legend is currently playing the villainous gimmick of The Learning Tree, alongside his proteges Big Bill and Bryan Keith, and is the reigning FTW Champion - a title he successfully defended against Minoru Suzuki last week on AEW Dynamite.

Several hours ago, The Ocho took to Instagram to share multiple photographs of himself with his wife, Jessica Lockhart, and one seemingly alongside their children. The caption of the post revealed that Jericho and Lockhart - who had tied the knot in 2000 - were celebrating their 24th marriage anniversary. The first-ever AEW World Champion further voiced his gratitude towards his spouse for her contributions to their family in the caption.

"In a year filled with change, one thing that never changes is the unwavering support and love ❤ for our family from @lockon27! Happy 24th Anniversary & thanks for all you do! I Love you!" wrote Jericho in the caption.

Former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho defended his latest gimmick

Chris Jericho's latest character, that of The Learning Tree, has received decidedly mixed responses from fans on live television as well as on social media. The Lionheart recently opened up about his gimmick and offered a defense of it on The Creative Imbalance podcast.

Jericho claimed that while his Learning Tree gimmick may be polarizing among audiences, segments featuring him and his faction draw considerable ratings on a weekly basis, arguing that the detractors form a small minority rather than a consensus.

"Yeah, polarizing, if you want to say that, or whatever the word may be, but bottom line is it delivers. It's one of the top-rated segments on the show every week, people are into it, and as much as people cry from the hills that they want to behead Chris Jericho, and kick me off planet Earth, and send me off in [sic] space in a shuttle, that's a very small amount of people," Chris Jericho said. The Demo God also pointed out that the purpose of the character was to help elevate talent and provide them the opportunity to "move up the ladder."

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Chris Jericho and his stable-mates on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite.
