Congratulations to AEW veteran Tony Schiavone
AEW veteran Tony Schiavone was recently recognized for his contributions to the wrestling industry after several decades of working in the business. This was his induction into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Schiavone began his career in the early 1980s working for Jim Crockett Productions. He then moved to WWF in the late 1980s before beginning a stint with WCW that would last 11 years. After this, he stopped working in wrestling altogether but made a return in 2017, when he signed with MLW, and finally ended up with All Elite Wrestling in their debut year.
The Tony Khan-led promotion posted a video celebrating this monumental moment for Tony Schiavone in what would be his first-ever Hall of Fame induction. Apart from himself, Schiavone's children, family, and friends appeared in the video to talk about this incredible moment.
Tony Schiavone recently went viral after calling a top AEW star a b**ch on live TV
Recently, Tony Schiavone had a moment while on commentary for AEW that went viral, where he ended up cussing out a top AEW star in the middle of her promo. This would be Mariah May.
A few weeks ago, Mariah turned on Toni Storm after winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, brutally attacking her and leaving her a bloody mess.
Last week on Dynamite, The Glamour came out to address what she did, and to make matters worse, she even came out cosplaying Storm's Timeless persona. While she was stalling before her promo, Tony Schiavone grew impatient and cussed her out, much to the surprise of Taz and Excalibur, who were also working commentary that night.
Toni Storm has often interacted with the veteran during the time that she has joined them on commentary and it seems that Schiavone has grown fond of her, seeing as how he reacted to Mariah May that night.
With more shows to come through the year, fans can expect more fun and interesting moments with the veteran and the rest of the commentary team.
