Controversial AEW All Out spot makes no sense, says EC3 (Exclusive)
AEW All Out 2024 turned out to be the typical insanity that fans have come to expect of the promotion, wrapped up in spectacularly presented matches and segments. However, former WWE star EC3 has claimed that one of the spots wasn't very logical.
The spot in question happened during the incredibly violent unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page. The rivalry between the two had been building up as one of the most intense feuds ever in AEW history, with both the stars willing to go to any length to destroy each other. At one point, Page attacked Swerve with a hidden syringe, following it up with a brutal chair shot to the head.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 stated that it did not make sense for Adam Page to conceal a syringe instead of a plethora of other weapons he could have used.
"If I am gonna be locked in a cage, I am gonna stash some weapons on me; I don't think syringe is very logical. Because I mean, you can have a knife, perhaps some sort of brass knuckle, you know. Maybe you know, like a two-shooter pistol. But a syringe? If I am going to a fight to kill my enemies, a syringe is probably 17th on my list," he said. [6:14 onwards]
EC3 believes AEW needs to acknowledge its shortcomings publicly
According to EC3, one of the best steps the Jacksonville-based promotion can take to regain its earlier popularity is owning up to its past mistakes publicly.
Speaking on another episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 took the example of Domino's Pizza while making his point about public acknowledgment.
"I do believe perhaps a public acknowledgment, maybe, would garner them a lot of people turning back in, or at least, giving it another shot. You would have to deliver something they want, and they keep wanting. Now I don't go get Domino's often, but if it's late night and someone says, 'I'm hammered; I'm gonna get a pizza, and they say, 'How about Domino's?' I'm not going, 'No!' I'm going, 'Yeah!'" he said. As of now, it remains to be seen what AEW President Tony Khan plans to do next.
