Controversial WWE moment was acceptable, unlike Mox choking Bryan Danielson with a bag, argues veteran (Exclusive)

AEW All Out 2024 will be remembered for its extreme moments as the show featured Jon Moxley suffocating Bryan Danielson, amongst other controversial spots. During a recent breakdown, Vince Russo argued that Undertaker hanging Big Boss Man was still logical from a wrestling standpoint.

All Elite Wrestling's most recent pay-per-view offering ended up being one of the most violent shows in a while. A lasting memory from the event would be Mox using a plastic bag to choke Danielson after the latter's world title defense.

AEW has been on the receiving end of criticism over booking an angle having attempted murder. Many brought up Undertaker and Big Boss Man's infamous moment from WrestleMania 15 and believed AEW was getting unnecessary heat.

During the latest episode of The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo explained why The Undertaker hanging another person on live TV made sense because of his character.

Russo stressed that every storyline needed to add up, and with The Undertaker and Big Boss Man, there was a sensible rationale to back it:

"Bro, listen, 'Taker hung the Big Boss Man from the Steel Cage, but bro, it was The Undertaker. That's The Undertaker! The Deadman, bro! At least, in the context of that character, bro, everything you do in professional wrestling, you've got to believe; if this were real, it's got to be somewhat logical," said the former WWE writer. Vince Russo delves deeper into the issue with Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson's AEW angle

The wrestling veteran spent his best years in the business as the Head Writer for WWE during the Attitude Era, during which he formed a successful partnership with fellow writer Ed Ferrara.

Russo and Ferrera would go back and forth on the creative direction and develop consistent stories. Vince noted that in the case of Jon Moxley's attack on Bryan Danielson, Ed Ferrera would have expected Mox to be arrested after the segment.

However, as the fans have seen thus far on AEW TV, there hasn't been a plausible follow-up to the All Out development, believed Russo.

He added:

"I really want to think of things I did in my career because I've always said it has to work within the context of wrestling. And if Ed Ferrara and I are having that conversation, I suggest to Ed, 'Okay, Ed, then we're going to put a plastic bag over Bryan Danielson's head.' Ed is going to look at me immediately and say, 'Okay, Vince, and then Jon Moxley gets arrested?'" [6:07 - 6:43]

Jon Moxley is after Bryan Danielson and his AEW World Title and could secure an opportunity if he defeats Darby Allin at AEW Grand Slam.
