Current AEW star dubbed 'Scott Hall type of guy'
A current AEW star has been dubbed a ‘Scott Hall type of guy’ by wrestling veteran Konnan. Scott Hall remains one of the most iconic stars in history.
Konnan is known for his take on matters related to wrestling and has often commented on several stars in the wrestling world, especially related to WWE and AEW. This time the veteran was talking about former AEW International Champion Will Ospreay.
Ospreay, ever since joining AEW, has gone on to have great matches where he beat a lot of top stars. He recently lost to his friend-turned-foe Kyle Fletcher. Despite the loss, he put on a great show and that is what prompted Konnan to compare him to the late Scott Hall.
The veteran was speaking on his Keepin' It 100 podcast when he said that similar to Scott Hall, Ospreay could take losses and still be a top guy in the eyes of fans.
“He’s kinda’ the type of guy that Scott Hall was, he can take losses and people still like him, you know what I’m saying? That fanbase, the hardcores, see him as a top guy.” [H/T EWrestling News]
Jim Ross was worried for AEW star Will Ospreay
Will Ospreay was involved in a scary spot at AEW Full Gear when he ate a jumping tombstone piledriver onto the steel steps from Kyle Fletcher.
That shocked a lot of people and one of them was WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross. Ross was speaking on his Grilling JR podcast when he spoke about the incident and said that it was scary.
"It was scary. I go back to my talent relations days; the worst thing that could happen is a main event-type player getting injured on a show that would require him or her to miss time. It not only adds to your medical bills on your budget, which is neither here nor there; that's not the biggest deal, but it takes somebody away from your booking,'' he said.
Thankfully, nothing untoward happened and the match went on properly with Fletcher taking the win.
