Current AEW star recalls brutally beating down The Young Bucks; shares footage
Former AEW World Tag Team champions The Young Bucks are among the most popular tag teams of the modern era. Brothers Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson are the Jacksonville-based company's executive vice presidents and lead the Elite faction.
The Young Bucks were known worldwide even before the formation of AEW. They were NJPW regulars and independent wrestling stars. During this era, they locked horns with numerous tag teams and factions. However, not many know that they once went to battle with Fightin' Taylor Boys, a group that consisted of Brian Cage-Taylor, Chuck Taylor, and Ryan Taylor. This showdown took place in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and was well-received by fans. Interestingly, a few hours ago, its footage was shared by the Machine Brian Cage on X/Twitter with a caption.
"Old school footage of the fighting Taylor boys putting it to some 'young' young bucks. #pwg."
Fightin' Taylor Boys reportedly lasted from 2010 until they split in 2012. Cage is currently sidelined due to injury. However, his recovery is going well, so his return is inevitable.
AEW's Brian Cage isn't leaving the promotion anytime soon
Brian Cage appeared on The Lightweights podcast a year ago. He revealed that his current contract with AEW is a lengthy one. Furthermore, he said he feels a special connection with the Jacksonville-based company and is happy to keep wrestling for them.
"I don’t see myself going anywhere else. With how long I’ve been there and how long my contract is for and everything else, it makes sense to stay put and I’m happy with that,” he said. (H/T Inside the Ropes)
Cage's time in All Elite Wrestling has been polarising so far. He is a former FTW Champion. However, many believe he should be involved in high-profile rivalries and matches. Only time will tell what the future holds for him.
