Danhausen teases unlikely alliance with former AEW champion

AEW star Danhausen recently teased a blockbuster team-up with a top star in the promotion. The former champion being discussed is Toni Storm.

The "Very Nice, Very Evil" star is known for his comedy gimmick in AEW. He hasn't been seen in the company since December 2023, when he competed in a battle royal at the Worlds End pay-per-view. While he has been absent from the Jacksonville-based promotion, he is featured in different independent promotions. His contract with AEW reportedly expires in mid-2025.

Meanwhile, Toni Storm had a highly successful run as AEW Women's World Champion. Her 'Timeless' gimmick has been the center of attention since 2023. However, she hasn't been seen in AEW since she was dethroned by Mariah May at All In 2024. Dahausen and Toni Storm have dynamic gimmicks and could be a perfect pairing if booked properly.

During a recent appearance, the face-painted star shared a picture of him and the former AEW Women's World Champion. The duo even named their collaboration 'Very Timeless, Very Evil,' teasing a possible alliance.

"Very Timeless, Very Evil," he wrote.

Report on Danhausen's lengthy absence

The 34-year-old star hasn't been seen in AEW programming for 11 months. Many rumors are floating around on why he is kept off TV. A recent report claimed that Danhausen wasn't willing to perform on Collision due to recent family concerns. However, he was willing to accept an independent promotion's booking.

Recently, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp revealed that the star was in contract with AEW back in September and claimed that he hadn't heard of any creative plans for him.

"There had been some contact between AEW and Danhausen in September, but I've not heard of any creative plans. Ultimately, he works there. So if they tell him to come to work, he will. He's never said or implied otherwise," said Sean Ross Sapp.

It remains to be seen what is next for the 34-year-old amid his AEW absence.
