Daniel Garcia criticizes Bryan Danielson's AEW exit; calls it 'disgusting'
AEW star Daniel Garcia recently discussed Bryan Danielson's attack at WrestleDream. The former recently announced that he will be staying with the promotion.
The American Dragon had a brutal farewell in his hometown, Washington. He lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley and also retired as a full-time wrestler. Later, his former stablemates at the Blackpool Combat Club decimated him. He was hospitalized while Jon Moxley is still terrorizing the All Elite locker room.
After the attack, many young stars like Hook, Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, and Daniel Garcia were appalled. They seemed guilty of not saving the veteran from the brutal beatdown. Since then, teams and wrestlers have targeted Moxley and his faction.
While speaking on Close Up, the Red Death claimed that Bryan Danielson's final night shouldn't have ended as it did. He also explained that the incident was a wake-up call to upcoming stars who needed to make changes.
"I think it was disgusting what happened to him. The last night of his full-time career and that's what happens. Like the greatest wrestler of all time, this is how he gets sent out. I think it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I hate to sensationalize it or romanticize it, but maybe, in a way, it needed to happen (...) If you see the look on our faces, I think a lot of us realize that things need to change, and nobody is going to change it for us," Garcia said. (11:59 - 12:35)
Daniel Garcia wanted to retire Bryan Danielson
The American Dragon is regarded as one of the business's greatest pro wrestlers. Every young star dreams of wrestling him. However, the Dragon Slayer had other plans.
While speaking with Good Karma Wrestling, Daniel Garcia claimed he wants to retire Bryan Danielson.
"Man, I mean, the goal that I’ve had for probably the past two years, it’s really a goal that only one person can do is I really want to be the person to retire Bryan Danielson," he said.
It will be interesting to see if Daniel Garcia and other stars would conquer Jon Moxley and his faction.
