Darby Allin beats returning AEW star after nearly 5 years to finish the trilogy

Darby Allin made his in-ring return after an almost two-month hiatus on the latest episode of AEW Collision. Tonight, his opponent was someone he hadn't shared the ring with in almost five years. This would be The Beast Mortos (fka Black Taurus).

Darby Allin competed for the first time since The Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing. After returning two weeks ago, he has now slotted himself as the fifth member of Team AEW as they go to war with The Elite next week at Blood and Guts. The luchador was also making his return to the Saturday show after facing off against Claudio Castagnoli two weeks ago.

Tonight at the Collision before Blood and Guts, Darby Allin faced off against The Beast Mortos. The two high-flyers have shared the ring a couple of times now, with the last one being at PWG in September 2019. Tonight was the third installment of their matchup.

Mortos would not make it easy for Allin, as he was in control for most of the match. However, the former TNT Champion was the more elusive of the two and he was able to find an opening and hit his Coffin Drop finisher to secure the win and continue his hot momentum heading into the Blood and Guts match next week.

It will be interesting to see which team will emerge victorious in Blood and Guts match.
