Darby Allin confirms WWE Hall of Famer has been backstage in AEW ahead of All In 2024 amid rumors of blockbuster return

Former TNT Champion Darby Allin recently confirmed that a WWE Hall of Famer has been present backstage in AEW ahead of the All In Pay-Per-View on August 25th. The name in question is none other than The Icon Sting.

The Stinger was last seen in AEW at the Revolution PPV earlier this year where he competed in his retirement match. Sting teamed up with Darby Allin to successfully defend their AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks (Nicholas & Matthew Jackson) in a tornado tag team match. The Vigilante recently teased appearing at All In next year which is set to take place in Arlington, Texas.

In a recent chat with WFAA, Darby Allin revealed that Sting has been backstage at some of the recent Collision shows. He further spoke about playing mini-golf with Sting's son.

“Yeah. He’s been backstage at some of the Collisions,” Allin confirmed. “I keep telling him, you’ve got to come out and we’ve got to go mini-golf battle. You know, like his son, I’m helping train his son right now in wrestling, and I took the son mini-golfing, and I whooped his butt, and then I just asked Sting, does it run in the family to lose to Darby Allin in mini-golf? We’ll find out. He claims that he’s a mini-golf master, but he hasn’t pulled up to the course yet.” [H/T: RingsideNews]

Lex Luger would love to see AEW veteran Sting induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame

Lex Luger is one of the top stars from the 80s and 90s and is a former WCW World Heavyweight Champion. The veteran had some great battles against the likes of Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart and is also the co-winner of the 1994 Royal Rumble Match with The Hitman.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda's Senior Editor Bill Apter, when asked about who should induct Lex Luger into the WWE Hall of Fame, the legend said that Sting would be a great choice.

"Well, obviously, Stinger would be a great choice. Pops in my mind first, for sure."

It will be interesting to see if Stinger returns to the WWE for a future Hall of Fame ceremony as he is currently a part of AEW.
