Darby Allin makes character-breaking comments on BCC member

Darby Allin is at odds with the Blackpool Combat Club on AEW TV at the moment, but that doesn't mean he doesn't admire the group's stars. He recently broke character to praise BCC bruiser Claudio Castagnoli.

Claudio Castagnoli (fka Cesaro in WWE) joined the Blackpool Combat Club in June 2022. He's currently all in on Jon Moxley's vision to tear AEW down and rebuild it, but Orange Cassidy, Daniel Garcia, and Darby Allin are determined to stop them.

Allin, in particular, has a chip on his shoulder. Since the retirement of his mentor, Sting, earlier this year, he's been struggling with the burden of being one of the faces of the company. While he's currently set himself against the entire Blackpool Combat Club, there's one man in particular he wants to go toe-to-toe with.

In an appearance on the Levack and Goz show on Fox Sports, Darby was asked who he'd like to face in All Elite Wrestling, and he immediately mentioned Claudio Castagnoli:

"Claudio, I think he's a world-talented guy. He's so talented and super underrated in a way. It's one of those matches I've always wanted to have in AEW. There are a lot of people I haven't wrestled yet that I want to. He's definitely at the top of that list," Darby said. [H/T Fightful]

Darby Allin will get his wish on AEW Dynamite

Darby Allin may have to wait a bit to go one-on-one with Claudio Castagnoli since the Blackpool Combat Club has made enemies of half the locker room. However, he will get his chance to wrestle against The Swiss Superman in tag-team action this week on AEW Dynamite.

Ahead of a stacked Wednesday show, All Elite Wrestling took to social media to promote a major tag team match: Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy vs. PAC and Claudio Castagnoli.

Orange Cassidy has challenged Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear later this month. While Darby is out for revenge, he'll have to keep an eye on Cassidy, who the BCC will be looking to take out.
