Darby Allin provides a huge update on his AEW status ahead of Dynamite 250

Darby Allin has been away from AEW for almost 2 full months. Following injuries and major losses, the multi-time champion took some time off to regroup. Fans are now buzzing ahead of Dynamite 250 as Allin has just issued a major update.

The Invisible Man has not wrestled since joining Team AEW for a loss to The New Elite in Anarchy In The Arena at Double Or Nothing in late May. This marked the end of a rough few months for the 31-year-old, who suffered a broken foot while losing to Jay White at Big Business in March. Allin's nose was broken in late April as he was hit by a bus while trying to help a friend cross the road.

Allin took a double superkick from The Young Bucks, while hanging upside down during Anarchy In The Arena. AEW officials gave the two-time TNT Champion time off to heal up as his face was already injured when he took the superkick. Allin has indicated that he hoped to be medically cleared in June. After a July 10 angle where he took out Brandon Cutler backstage, now it looks like the 10-year veteran could be returning to action on tonight's Dynamite 250 special.

Speaking to Friday Night Fights, the Seattle native recalled his recent obstacles and noted that the aforementioned superkick left thumbtacks in his lip, which also caused an issue with his septum. Allin confirmed that he is medically cleared to compete, and teased big things to come.

"Dynamite 250 is actually my return again because I broke my foot 2 months ago, then got hit by a bus and broke my nose, then returned to the ring. I had 1 match, I was hung upside down with a rope, then kicked in the face with shoes that had superglued thumbtacks on the bottom. The thumbtacks got stuck in my lip, it kind of messed up my septum, and blood was squirting everywhere. So I am medically cleared after all that, and I am back to rock in Little Rock," Darby Allin said. [H/T to Fightful]

Allin continued and declared that his return was going to be fun. The AEW Original added that he has "a lot of crazy stuff planned" for the near future.

Darby Allin to receive AEW TNT Championship opportunity?

Darby Allin is a two-time AEW TNT Champion. The 31-year-old holds the top spot for the most days as TNT Champion with 214 recognized days across both reigns. Wardlow is next with 198 days over 3 reigns.

Jack Perry is the current TNT Champion. He won the vacant title at Forbidden Door on June 30 by winning a six-man Ladder Match. A big title match between Perry and Allin is rumored for All In 2024 after recent issues between the two AEW Originals.

Allin's in-ring return was teased last week following a beatdown to Brandon Cutler. He then warned The Elite that he would be coming for them at Dynamite 250.
