Darby Allin pulls off a shocking win over former AEW World Champion

Darby Allin pulled off a massive and shocking victory over a former AEW World Champion on the latest episode of Dynamite. The latter is none other than Hangman Adam Page.

The Anxious Millennial Cowboy took on Darby for the very first time tonight. The two men were on opposing sides in the 2024 iteration of Blood and Guts last week, with Allin securing the win for Team AEW by forcing Matthew Jackson to submit on behalf of The Elite after threatening to light Jack Perry on fire.

Despite starting off at a quick pace inside the ring, the match between Hangman and Darby spilled to the outside, with Page delivering a German Suplex to Allin on the floor. The latter retaliated with a stunner followed by a spectacular Coffin Drop from off an entrance tunnel on to the former AEW World Champion, setting the tone for the bout.

In the course of the match, Page regained control and began dominating Allin. He repeatedly slammed the 31-year-old on the apron and on the steel ring steps, going so far as to drop Allin face-first on one occasion. Darby Allin eventually mounted a powerful comeback and nearly picked up the win with a Code Red after a flurry of offense. Allin also attempted a Buckshot Lariat on Page, who countered it with a huge lariat of his own.

Page seemed to have the match won after destroying Allin with multiple Dead Eyes. He tried to deliver a Buckshot Lariat to finish the job, but the latter outsmarted and outmaneuvered Page, eventually managing to roll up Hangman for the three-count to pick up the enormous win.

The victory sustains Darby Allin's momentum heading into his TNT Title match against Jack Perry at AEW All In 2024.
