Darby Allin returns to tag team competition for the first time since Sting’s retirement; aligns with AEW’s mystery star
Former AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin made his return to tag team wrestling months after the retirement of his legendary former partner, Sting. He teamed up with a mystery star on the latest episode of Collision.
The AEW's mystery star is Hologram. Darby Allin has not wrestled in a tag team match since the Revolution 2024 pay-per-view when he teamed up with Sting in The Icon's final match. After his retirement, Darby had to vacate the World Tag Team Title due to his partner's departure.
On the most recent episode of Collision, Darby teamed with the recent debutant luchador, Hologram, in a tag match after several months. The match was against The Premier Athletes (Josh Woods & Tony Nese). The tag match was action-packed, with the Arlington crowd fully behind Darby and Hologram throughout the match.
At the end of the bout, Darby and Hologram registered the win over the Premier Athletes via pinfall.
Meanwhile, Darby is all set to challenge Jack Perry for the TNT Championship at the upcoming All In 2024 event in Wembley. It remains to be seen if he manages to capture the title at the pay-per-view.
