Darby Allin supports AEW star in feud with Jon Moxley

Darby Allin recently returned to AEW television to bring the fight to The Blackpool Combat Club. He will team with another beloved babyface this week against members of the heel faction.

Last week on Dynamite, Orange Cassidy challenged Jon Moxley to an All Elite Wrestling World Championship match in a bid to stop his group's ongoing rampage. Later in the episode, The Purveyor of Violence lured the Freshly Squeezed star into an ambush after seemingly threatening to subject Wheeler Yuta - Cassidy's former ally - to the same violent fate as Chuck Taylor and Bryan Danielson.

Thankfully, the babyface contingency from the All Elite lockerroom appeared to make the save for Cassidy. Included among them was Darby Allin, who rappelled down from the rafters to stop Claudio Castagnoli and PAC from crushing the former International Champion's neck in the ring-side area. The 31-year-old star was also seen fighting The Swiss Cyborg through the crowd as The BCC retreated.

Ahead of the November 6, 2024, episode of Dynamite this week, one of the X/Twitter handles of the Tony Khan-led promotion shared a graphic promoting a blockbuster tag team match from the card for the Wednesday night show, pitting Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin against two-thirds of the World Trios Champions, Claudio Castagnoli and PAC.

".@ClaudioCSRO and PAC look to ensure @orangecassidy makes it to #AEWFullGear when OC teams with @DarbyAllin on #AEWDynamite Don't miss a moment LIVE this Wednesday at 8/7c only on TBS."

Allin and OC had notably teamed up for several matches in AEW last year and even competed in the 2023 Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament.

Darby Allin lost to Jon Moxley at AEW Grand Slam 2024

Darby Allin got involved in the ongoing story featuring Jon Moxley and his so-called "Death Riders" when the latter challenged him to put his World Title shot on the line at Dynamite Grand Slam 2024 earlier this year. Despite promising to run through the former Lunatic Fringe, Allin lost to Moxley, who went on to dethrone Bryan Danielson for the belt at WrestleDream 2024.

Moxley and his crew also carried out a violent post-match assault on The American Dragon. Although Allin - who had defeated Brody King earlier at the same pay-per-view - had tried to make the save for Danielson, both men would be betrayed by Wheeler Yuta, who laid out Allin and then choked Bryan with a plastic bag. Danielson would then have his neck stomped on by Claudio Castagnoli with the aid of a steel chair.

With the former TNT Champion now seemingly back in the fray against The BCC and Moxley, it remains to be seen whether and when Allin will go after The One True King of AEW next.
