Dave Meltzer can't believe Ricochet agreed to an embarrassing AEW Dynamite segment: "The biggest geek in the world"

Veteran journalist Dave Meltzer blasted Ricochet for agreeing to a seemingly demeaning segment on AEW Dynamite this week. The angle received major backlash online.

On AEW Dynamite, Ricochet came out in a suit and was interrupted by The Hurt Syndicate. MVP snatched the faction's business card from the former Speed Champion's hands while Bobby Lashley grabbed his neck. The Future of Flight ultimately walked out of the arena after being embarrassed.

Speaking on the recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer expressed his disgust over Ricochet agreeing to the abovementioned segment on Dynamite this week. Meltzer said the former WWE star looked like a geek during the angle.

"I have no idea why he would ever want to do that segment, the Ricochet segment with The Hurt Business [Syndicate]. I have no idea why he would ever want to do that, ever, for any reason. This was like the worst week possible to do it because it's like ok those guys, Will Ospreay and Ricochet are gonna go out there, this guy comes off like the biggest geek in the world."

Meltzer further said the AEW Dynamite segment made Ricochet look horrible.

"I mean just horrible, horrible portrayal, it's like you are basically telling everyone that this guy is a prelim nobody, right? Not worthy of anyone caring about him, no matter how good a job he may have done in that trios match on the pay-per-view, all that. It's like he is just low-level." [29:53 - 30:49]

Ricochet is set for a big match on Saturday's AEW Collision

Ricochet is one of the participants in the ongoing Continental Classic Tournament. After two wins in the Gold League, The Future of Flight is set for his next match against Will Ospreay on Saturday's AEW Collision.

It will be the second time Ricochet faces Ospreay since his All Elite Wrestling debut. The last bout between the two ended in a no contest. It remains to be seen who will emerge victorious this time.
