Dijak reveals what he told Toni Storm backstage during his visit to AEW
Christopher James Dijak has had several on-screen names during his WWE run but during his final run in the company, he was simply known as Dijak. The 37-year-old predominantly performed in NXT, where he was known for his in-ring intensity and hard-hitting ability.
Dijak recently left the WWE because, according to him, his employers did not renew his contract. Interestingly, he was spotted backstage at the AEW pay-per-view, Forbidden Door 2024. The live event was historic as almost all matches met fans' expectations. One of the best bouts of the night was "Timeless" Toni Storm vs. Mina Shirakawa for the AEW Women's World Championship, which ended with Storm's triumph.
Storm's 'Timeless' gimmick has received immense praise from wrestling enthusiasts in recent months, and Dijak is a massive fan of it. He recently shared an update on X/Twitter, where he called her gimmick "the best gimmick in all of professional wrestling". Furthermore, he revealed that he said the same thing to her in person. He said,
"Toni Storm has the best gimmick in all of professional wrestling and I was delighted to let her know that I felt this way in person."
"Timeless" Toni Storm won the AEW Women's World Championship in November 2023 by defeating Hikaru Shida at Full Gear.
Dijak showed up at Forbidden Door uninvited
In a recent interview with Forbes, Dijak confirmed that he was not officially invited to Forbidden Door. However, he added that he and Tony Khan had mutual respect for one another. He said,
"I showed up uninvited (laughs). No, Mojo [Rawley] and Steve [Kaye] both arranged that for me. They have great connections. Steve was there with me, so he brought me along, brought me in. I don't know if anything needs to be approved by Tony specifically or if they just kind of have people going in and out. But I know that Tony has been made aware of my interest, and I know that there's reciprocal respect if nothing else."
The 37-year-old is a former CW Heavyweight Champion. Additionally, he has won titles such as the CW New England Championship, CW Tag Team Championship, and more.
