"Do it HHH!" "Surely WWE bound" - Fans react to reports of popular star's AEW contract expiring soon

A popular AEW star's contract is reportedly set to expire soon. Fans have taken to social to react to the situation.

Keith Lee was on top of the world during his time in NXT. He dominated his opponents in the ring and won the NXT North American and NXT Championship. In fact, he was the first person to hold both those titles simultaneously. However, this was as good as it got for Lee.

After making it to the main roster, Keith Lee underwent a lot of gimmick changes that left him a shell of his former self. As a result, he left the Stamford-based promotion and joined AEW in 2022. However, things went from bad to worse for the former NXT Champion.

Although he captured the NXT Tag Team Championships along with Swerve Strickland, his career went nowhere as he lost the title. While Strickland went on to become the AEW World Champion, Lee had been stuck on the sidelines due to poor booking and injury. He hasn't competed since December 2023 and it was recently reported that Lee's contract was set to expire soon.

Fans quickly took to social media to comment on the AEW star's future in the company. Check out some of the reactions below:

Donovan Dijak wants to headline a PPV with AEW star Keith Lee

Donovan Dijak and Keith Lee made a huge name for themselves on the independent scene due to their matches with each other. This also helped them get called up to NXT where they wrestled each other on a few occasions. Given that both men have been apart for these few years, they wouldn't mind wrestling each other again.

During an interview with Tru Heel Heat Wrestling, Dijak mentioned that he wants to headline a PPV with Keith Lee now that he's a free agent:

"That’s just kind of the way that it boils down. There was a point in my career where Keith [Lee] and I were sick of wrestling each other. Now, we’re at the point where it’s like, we should probably main-event a pay-per-view with this in some capacity, so hopefully that happens, wherever that might happen," he added.

it remains to be seen if Dijak will get his wish of wrestling his good friend again after so many years.
