Drew McIntyre names two AEW stars as his dream opponents outside WWE

Drew McIntyre recently named two AEW stars when asked about dream opponents he would like to face outside of WWE. The talent in question are Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada.

The Chosen One has continued to be one of WWE RAW's most reliable top stars, engrossing fans with his blood feud with CM Punk, who defeated him in a Strap Match at Bash in Berlin last month. The deeply personal rivalry is set to culminate in a Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood 2024 on October 5.

Moreover, McIntyre recently made his acting debut in the J.J. Perry-directed action comedy The Killer's Game, a film that co-stars wrestling legend Dave Bautista.

On an Ask Me Anything thread on Reddit, Drew McIntyre was asked by a fan to name the top five wrestlers not currently employed by the Stamford-based promotion that he would like the opportunity to wrestle. The Scottish Warrior named two of AEW's top stars, Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada, as well as TNA's Joe Henry and NJPW's Tetsuya Naito and Tomohiro Ishii.

McIntyre has not shared a ring with The Aerial Assassin - who is currently the reigning AEW International Champion - since 2017. The same applies for Hendry, whom the star locked horns with several times in WCPW. A match against Kazuchika Okada would seemingly be a first-time-ever bout for McIntyre.

AEW star Mercedes Mone was at the premiere of WWE star Drew McIntyre's movie

Drew McIntyre made his debut as a thespian with the 2024 film The Killer's Game. The movie—scheduled for release on September 13, 2024—recently had its red-carpet premiere. Several notable individuals attended the event, including All Elite Wrestling star Mercedes Mone.

The CEO, who has appeared on television projects outside of wrestling, addressed her motivation for appearing at the premiere of McIntyre's film on a recent edition of her newsletter, Mone Mag. She also talked about meeting with WWE interviewer Cathy Kelley and long-time friend Bayley.

"So, when I got the invite for the premiere of The Killer’s Game starring my friend Drew McIntyre, you bet I was gonna be there to support. Ditto for Bayley, who also flew in. It's always great to see Pam (Bayley), even in these quick spurts. Along with seeing her and Drew, I got to see another old friend, Cathy Kelley, who looked as beautiful as ever doing her thing. I hope this opportunity elevates Drew to additional outside opportunities. Regardless, he is starring in a big movie, and for that he should be so proud."
