Dustin Rhodes sends a special three-word message to Cody Rhodes

AEW and WWE are both fortunate to have a member of the legendary Rhodes family in their locker rooms. Today is special to Cody Rhodes for outside reasons, so he has been receiving messages from thousands of fans and colleagues, including Dustin Rhodes.

The current Undisputed WWE Champion is celebrating his 39th birthday today. Dustin was 16 years old when Cody was born and on the cusp of making his pro wrestling debut. The sons of The American Dream grew up in the industry and then went on to work together in WWE as well as in AEW. They have continued to support each other after Cody's return to the Stamford-based promotion.

The Natural took to X (formerly Twitter) today to send a special three-word message to The American Nightmare on his big day. Dustin included a post-match photo from the inaugural AEW Double Or Nothing event in 2019, where the younger brother won a brutal 22-minute bout over his older brother.

"Happy Birthday Brother," Dustin wrote.

Cody has not publicly responded to Dustin as of this writing. The grandsons of a plumber last worked together on January 8, 2020. They defeated The Lucha Bros on AEW Dynamite that night.

Popular AEW hopefuls want to wrestle The Rhodes brothers

Cody and Dustin Rhodes teamed up numerous times in WWE, often as Stardust and Goldust. They also worked two standard tag team matches in AEW, losing to The Young Bucks and defeating The Lucha Bros in the other bout.

Another tag team from a legendary wrestling family, Ross and Marshall Von Erich, is still hopeful of wrestling Dusty's sons one day. The former MLW World Tag Team Champions recently discussed dream matches on The Von Erichs Podcast. They named several big teams they want to face and said they aren't giving up on wrestling Cody and Dustin.

"Can’t forget [Cody and Dustin]. We are definitely gonna do that one, too, at some point," Ross Von Erich said.

The 31-year-old Marshall doubled down and expressed confidence that the match could still happen. The sons of Kevin Von Erich have wrestled two AEW matches. They teamed with Orange Cassidy for a Rampage win over Jake Hager, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker in December 2023, then teamed with Dustin this past February for a Rampage win over Shimbashi, HiTT, and Romero Crews.
