Dustin Rhodes shares an interesting message amid uncertain AEW future
One-half of the current Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions, Dustin Rhodes, asked an interesting question to the fans amid an uncertain future with AEW. The Natural has been quite active in the ring lately.
Dustin Rhodes has been with All Elite Wrestling ever since the company's inception in 2019. He is also well known for his time in WWE as 'Goldust.' The 55-year-old veteran has been very active in the ring lately as he currently holds the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship with Sammy Guevara, as well as the World Six-Man Tag Team Championship with the Von Erich brothers, Marshall and Ross.
It was recently reported that Dustin's contract with AEW has expired but that he was still in negotiations with Tony Khan's company for a potential new deal. Amid his uncertain future, The Natural had an interesting question for the fans. The veteran took to his X (fka Twitter) account to ask fans whether they still love to watch him perform.
"Do you still love watching me perform?" he wrote to fans asking them.
Veteran believes Dustin Rhodes could be in the AEW World Championship picture
The former WCW veteran, Ray Lloyd (fka Glacier), who is currently signed with Tony Khan's promotion as a road agent, believes that Dustin Rhodes could be in the AEW World Championship picture.
Speaking exclusively on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted recently, Lloyd said he hoped Dustin Rhodes lifted the big one someday. He further added that Dustin was ready for a World Championship run:
"The short answer is I certainly hope so. Yes, I do believe that. It's in his blood. It's in his blood to be a competitor. It's part of being, you know, that Rhodes tradition. But that being said, I think he is in a really good place as far as his position as a wrestler right now in AEW because, just from what I see, he really does embrace that role of being a mentor and a locker-room veteran. [...] I definitely think that he is ready to pull the trigger. And there's a lot of talent that look up to him and go to him for advice, which is really good to see. If they feel like it's a thing to put him in that position for a run, I think he is 100% ready for it."
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Dustin Rhodes amid AEW contract rumors.
