Eddie Kingston confirms his injury; reveals how long he will be out of AEW

AEW star Eddie Kingston suffered an injury at NJPW Resurgence, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time for him, especially with Double or Nothing pay-per-view around the corner. He has now revealed the nature of the injury and how long he will be out of action.

The former Continental Champion hurt himself during a Last Man Standing match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence for the Strong Openweight title. He has now revealed to PWInsider that he suffered a torn ACL and the meniscus. He also fractured his tibia, which will now require surgery.

The report also stated that in the initial aftermath of the injury, Eddie Kingston had hoped that he could make a comeback by the AEW All In event in London. Unfortunately for him, because he needs to have surgery, he will be out for around nine months.

While speaking to PWInsider he said:

"This part of the game. Injuries happen. I will be back." [H/T PWInsider]

Eddie Kingston shares heartbreaking post after injury

Eddie Kingston is someone who does not speak in riddles and cuts straight to the chase when it comes to putting his point across. He did the exact same thing in the aftermath of his surgery.

He took to Instagram and shared a picture of himself in a wheelchair with his right knee in a heavy cast. He looked to be in a pensive mood after what had transpired with the injury. He was also seen smoking a cigar which showed how relaxed he was about the situation.

He captioned the post:

“Once you’ve wrestled, everything else in life is easy. –Dan Gable.”

While it is heartbreaking to know that he will miss the highly anticipated Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing, Kingston is a fighter and will hope to come back as soon as possible.
