Eric Bischoff’s bold prediction about AEW has turned out to be true

Wrestling veteran Eric Bischoff's bold prediction about AEW has seemingly turned out to be true. He had predicted that ratings drawn by Dynamite would drop before May 15, 2024.

The latest episode of Dynamite featured several high-profile matches and segments, building to the upcoming event Double or Nothing 2024. However, the quality of the card did not translate into ratings, as the episode was reported to have netted 672,000 viewers, a sharp decline from the 711,000 drawn by the previous week's episode. The 18-49 demographic rating also fell from 0.24 last week to 0.23 for the May 15 episode.

The figures drawn by Dynamite elicited a response from Eric Bischoff, who has been a long-time critic of Tony Khan and his booking of AEW's product. The Hall of Famer shared a tweet he had posted last month in which he claimed that the ratings drawn by the flagship show would drop below 700K before May 15, 2024. Bischoff asserted his supposed foresight in the caption, writing:

"Purely prescient. #WiseChoices."

Eric Bischoff is not interested in working for AEW

While answering fan questions on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff addressed whether he was interested in working in AEW as a booker or in the role of an executive producer.

The former WWE RAW General Manager revealed that he was enjoying a sense of liberty and autonomy in his life and schedule that he did not wish to trade for a position in either All Elite Wrestling, WWE, or TNA.

"No, I wouldn't. It's got really nothing to do with how I feel about AEW or Tony Khan, it's really not that, it's more about where I'm at in my life right now, and every day that goes by I'm appreciating my freedom, and my flexibility, and more important, my ability to live where I want, to do what I want on my own schedule. So committing to anybody, whether it be Tony at AEW, or anybody - WWE or TNA, or anybody else that would happen to call, or anybody outside of wrestling that would offer a position that would be as intense as an Executive Producer or booker (I hate to use the term booker, it's dated)," Eric Bischoff said.

All Elite Wrestling will present the sixth edition of its annual pay-per-view, Double or Nothing 2024, later this month in Las Vegas.
