Ex-WWE star advises the next Mr. Money in the Bank not to wrestle The Miz
WWE Money in the Bank 2024 is just around the corner. The event will see two stars secure the coveted briefcase. Meanwhile, Matt Cardona has advised the winner of the men's bout not to lock horns with The Miz.
Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, will host Money in the Bank on July 6, 2024. Like every year, six stars will wrestle in a Ladder Match to win the briefcase, which guarantees the victor a title shot at the time and place of their choosing for up to 12 months. In 2023, Damian Priest won the MITB contract and captured the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL.
Matt Cardona recently took to X/Twitter to conduct a Q&A session. One fan asked him what advice he would like to give to wrestlers who were competing in their first MITB Ladder Match on Saturday. In response, The Indy God said the winner should not wrestle The Miz the night after the premium live event.
"Don’t wrestle Miz the next night if you win," Cardona replied.
The advice came from his personal experience. At WrestleMania 32, the 39-year-old wrestler won the Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder Match. The following night on RAW, he put his newly won title on the line against The A-lister and lost.
Matt Cardona is grateful for his time in WWE
In June 2024, Matt Cardona appeared in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling. During the conversation, he opened up about his time in the Stamford-based promotion.
Cardona said he was "grateful" for his stint in the global juggernaut. He added that his WWE tenure prepared him for his highly successful run on the independent circuit.
"Listen, I am forever grateful for my time in WWE and of course, my time in WWE set me up for this independent run."
The Indy God worked in the global juggernaut for 15 years. Cardona's journey in the company started in 2005, and he was released from the promotion in 2020 as part of the COVID-19 budget cuts.
