Fan-favorite AEW star seemingly confirms WWE future status
AEW star Daniel Garcia has just commented on the speculation and jokes among fans that he would jump ship to NXT for a hilarious reason. The online speculation was that he would be jumping promotions for the attractive women on the roster.
Earlier this month, Garcia revealed he was planning to re-sign with AEW. Before this, he was absent from the promotion for around a month, leading some to believe he was debating his next career choice. His appearance on Dynamite this month confirmed that he was staying with the Jacksonville-based promotion.
While on the South Congress podcast with Cameron Hawkes, Daniel Garcia talked about the jokes and memes from fans about him joining NXT due to the attractive women on the roster. He mentioned how he understood how these jokes went viral, but felt that this undermined the NXT roster's recent achievements
"I get why people think it was funny and it kept blowing up and people kept sending me things. To me, it completely undermines how great NXT is. I feel like NXT right now is hot, it’s on fire, they have such great talent, both men and women, international talent from all over the world. People of all different experience levels."
He continued.
"When people kept saying I’m just going to sign there because there are a bunch of attractive women, I think it completely undermines the work rate, the talent of the entire roster. They have a great roster on their hands. They’re doing a bunch of great things over there. It undermines and takes away from what they’re doing over there." [H/T - Fightful]
Daniel Garcia has had a lot on his plate since his AEW return
Daniel Garcia has stayed committed to doing his best after re-signing with AEW and has been involved with three different parties.
Before WrestleDream last week, he hinted at going after the TNT Championship and even had a face-to-face encounter with Jack Perry at the pay-per-view.
Moments later, a ghost of his past came to haunt him in ths form of a returning MJF. The two faced off in a grudge match at All Out, and despite Friedman stealing a win, it was Garcia who had the last laugh with a post-match attack on him. Last week, The Wolf of Wrestling got his revenge and almost completely beat down DG if not for Adam Cole appearing.
The former ROH Pure Champion has also found himself getting involved in the fight against Jon Moxley and the Blackpool Combat Club. He has aligned himself with Private Party as they look to protect the company they love from a new tyrant.
It remains to be seen how he'll manage all his possible choices, and which he decides to take on first in the coming weeks.
