Female AEW star reveals Cody Rhodes paid for her in-ring gear - "Wasn't making any money"
AEW star Julia Hart recently revealed that Cody Rhodes once paid for her wrestling gear. Hart is a former TBS Champion.
The American Nightmare was a part of AEW from 2019 to 2022. Cody Rhodes was a top star in the promotion and helped bring many talent into the fold both on and off television. The House of Black's Julia Hart recently revealed a heartwarming gesture by Rhodes during her early years in professional wrestling.
In a recent virtual signing for Highspots, Julia Hart revealed that Cody Rhodes helped in paying for her wrestling gear as she wasn't signed at the time.
"So my first outfit I had, it was like a blue and silver and it didn’t fit me very well and it wasn’t as high-quality as this one was which Ms. Sandra (Gray) made me. Cody (Rhodes) also helped me pay for it because I also wasn’t signed at the time and wasn’t making any money to have some good, quality gear so shout out."
The House of Black member further showed appreciation for Cody Rhodes and Sandra for believing in her and helping her out:
"I think I was still getting paid as an extra at one point. I didn’t get an on-deal till like… I was getting paid for an extra for a while… Cody believed in me, Sandra believed in me and they helped me get good gear and I appreciate them for it." [H/T: InsideTheRopes]
Former AEW star Cody Rhodes is the current Undisputed WWE Champion
Cody Rhodes left AEW in 2022 to return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. Following his return, Rhodes made it clear that he was back to win the WWE Championship. The American Nightmare got the opportunity to challenge for the title at WrestleMania 39 after winning the 2023 Royal Rumble match however, he came up short in defeating Roman Reigns.
The American Nightmare managed to win 2024's Royal Rumble match as well and once again challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40. After hitting three Cross Rhodes on the Tribal Chief, Cody Rhodes emerged victorious and became the first Rhodes in his family to win the WWE Championship.
We will have to wait and see which WWE star dethrones Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed Title in the future.
