Female star gives a disappointing update on her AEW return

AEW star Riho recently provided an update on her return to the Jacksonville-based promotion. Riho was the inaugural Women's Champion in All Elite Wrestling.

The Japanese star has been out of action since July after suffering a fractured arm in her match against Lady Frost on the July 6th edition of AEW Collision. Riho debuted for All Elite Wrestling at Double or Nothing 2019 and defeated Nyla Rose at the October 2, 2019 edition of Dynamite to become the first-ever AEW Women's Champion.

In a recent post on her blog, Riho revealed that even though her visa has been renewed, she's still not able to travel to the United States.

“I broke my arm at the beginning of July, and it’s been three months,” Riho wrote. “I’m sure you’re all thinking, ‘Why aren’t you coming back?’ As it turns out, my VISA has been renewed and I am still unable to go the the U.S.” [H/T: WrestleZone]

Jim Cornette claims AEW CEO Tony Khan is making a mistake by investing in Riho

WWE veteran Jim Cornette recently shared his thoughts on Riho making around 400,000 dollars from All Elite Wrestling last year. Many were confused after knowing about the salary.

In an episode of his Drive-Thru podcast, Jim Cornette questioned why Riho is making so much money despite not having many matches in the Jacksonville-based promotion. He called Tony Khan stupid for paying the star too much.

"The guy said she wrestled like 10 times. Do you think she could’ve wrestled more than 20 or 25? Even doing dark matches on YouTube or whatever? (...) My God, if she’s making half of that and she had 20 matches then $200,000 for 20 matches, he paying her 10 grand a match. It’s getting a little bit more believable although stupid."

We will have to wait and see when the former Women's World Champion will be able to show up on All Elite Wrestling television.
