Firing CM Punk was the first time Tony Khan "ever actually did any real work," says 34-year-old star
The 34-year-old star recently used an old CM Punk incident to take a dig at Tony Khan. Indie star Effy is amidst a controversial beef with the AEW head.
Not too long ago, the GCW star made some negative remarks about Khan and his father Shad Khan on his podcast. Many in the wrestling fraternity believe that this was why the AEW President pulled Ricky Starks from GCW's upcoming events. Game Changer Wrestling had already booked the absent AEW star for three matches and one was even advertised.
Once again Effy has made Tony Khan a subject of his mockery and this time he has upped the intensity. He even used CM Punk's name to rub salt in the wound. That said, he recently sat down with BodySlamNet’s Game Changer Weekly and took several shots at Khan, questioning the AEW CEO's capabilities.
"I would like to say that I don’t think that Tony Khan has ever been the best person that interviewed for a job in that’s why he got it. I think he’s been given a lot of positions in companies his father owns, I think he’s been given a lot of fluff PR positions, I do not think that he was ever the best technical person for any of the jobs that he has listed. I think the first time he ever actually did any real work was firing CM Punk, that’s why it was so emotionally exhausting for him," he said. [H/T: BodySlamNet]

What were Effy's remarks about AEW President Tony Khan and his father?
Speaking on his podcast around a few weeks ago, Effy put GCW over AEW stating that the Jacksonville-based company was only functioning because of Shad Khan's help.
"My company, I don't run a company, our company GCW can't run on a 40 Million Dollar deficit and continue to run shows, but some of us have the privilege of being able to run at a 40 Million Dollar deficit. Brett (Lauderdale) does not own a football team. Brett doesn't have a dad who pays him to stay away. I don't want this to be a personal thing."
Since Tony Khan barred Ricky Starks from appearing for GCW, the latter was replaced by Effy in his upcoming match against Matt Cardona.
