Footage of Mercedes Mone lashing out at fans at recent event surfaces; took issue with a particular chant

Mercedes Mone took issue with a particular chant at a recent event. She lashed out at the fans for the chant.

Mercedes Mone is one of the top female stars in AEW at the moment. After a blockbuster debut back in March, she quickly captured the TBS Championship. But she didn't stop there as she defeated Stephanie Vaquer for the NJPW STRONG Women's Championship at Forbidden Door 2024.

Following this win, she was confronted by Britt Baker, which kickstarted their feud. After weeks of back-and-forth against each other, Tony Khan announced that Mercedes will defend her TBS Championship against Britt Baker at AEW All In on August 25.

Mone recently attended San Diego Comic-Con, where she was able to start a "CEO" chant. However, a fan decided to chant "DMD" at her, which infuriated the TBS Champion, causing her to lash out at the fan. The whole incident was caught on camera.

"Oh my god, shut up! Get this guy out of here, he pi**ed me off!" Mone shouted at the fan.

Vince Russo feels Zelina Vega is the new Sasha Banks (Mercedes Mone)

Zelina Vega has soared in popularity in recent years. She was heavily cheered during her matches against Rhea Ripley, and her current affiliation with Rey Mysterio and the LWO has only helped elevate her career further. Given her current promo skills and ring work, Vega was able to draw a comparison with a former WWE star.

Speaking on the Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW podcast, Vince Russo opined that Zelina Vega is the new Sasha Banks of WWE:

"You know what they’re trying to do? Here's what they are trying to do- Zelina Vega is now Sasha Banks. Exactly what they are trying to do, bro. One thousand percent." [59:45 onwards]

It remains to be seen if Zelina Vega will be as successful as Mercedes Mone was during her time in WWE.
