Forgotten star makes AEW return to kick off Collision this week

A second-generation star made his in-ring return to AEW after two months tonight on Collision to take on one of the promotion's top stars in singles competition. This would be "Dynamite Kid" Tommy Billington.

Billington has adopted the same in-ring name as his uncle. The original Dynamite Kid was well known from the 1970s to the late 1980s, competing on Stampede Wrestling before eventually appearing on WWF. He was also known as one half of The British Bulldogs with Hall of Famer Davey Boy Smith.

Tonight, to kick off AEW Collision, Tommy Billington faced off against Konosuke Takeshita in singles action. This would be his second match on the promotion after he made his in-ring debut two months ago against FTR's Dax Harwood.

He put on a great show tonight and held his own against one of the greatest strikers in the industry now. Although there was a clear size and strength advantage from the Japanese star, there were flashes of brilliance from the British star, with Billington even hitting a Tombstone Piledriver on Takeshita.

In the end, the Dynamite Kid could not overcome Konosuke Takeshita and suffered his second straight loss on the promotion after getting hit with a "T-Trigger" high knee strike.
