Former AEW champion looks almost unrecognizable amid current absence [Photo]
The lineage of the AEW Women's World Championship is prestigious. Over the years, it has been held by immensely talented names like Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, Riho, and more. The reigning champion is "The Glamour" Mariah May, who defeated Toni Storm for the gold.
Hikaru Shida is the longest-reigning AEW Women's World Champion ever, having held the title for 372 days. She has captured the gold on three occasions since signing with AEW in 2019. However, the 36-year-old has not appeared on the company's programming for weeks.
Recently, Shida posted a picture on her Instagram handle, where she looked unrecognizable. This was mainly because she was donning a blue wig in the said photo.
"Look at this wig that was so cute and I couldn’t help but buy it😘," wrote Shida.
Hikaru Shida's last match in All Elite Wrestling was against Kris Statlander on Dynamite. They locked horns on November 20, 2024.

Before the event, she was interviewed by Wrestling Inc., where she expressed her excitement to perform at the legendary venue.
"So actually, when Wembley [was] announced, I was like, 'Oh, I hope I could go.' But I really didn't imagine I'm champion. But, yeah, of course, this is the biggest show in my life, and it's going to be the moment I can't forget in my life. And I feel I'm so ready for the big moment," said the former champion.
