Former AEW champion’s return seemingly confirmed for huge event

A recent report has just suggested that a certain former AEW World Champion could make their return at an upcoming major event in a few months. This would be Kenny Omega.

Omega has been out of action for more than ten months now. He was last seen making a brief appearance on AEW back in May, where he had a run-in with The Elite. He has since then been focusing on recuperating from his fight with diverticulitis.

In a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the recent announcement of The Young Bucks, where they mentioned that they'll be at Wrestle Dynasty in January. He reported that the belief as of now was that they'll be facing off against Kenny Omega and Hiroshi Tanahashi.

A couple of weeks ago, Omega brought up how he'd like to team up with The Ace of the Universe to get his revenge against the EVPs.

"It looked like it would be on January 5, it would be Young Bucks against Kenny Omega and Hiroshi Tanahashi, which would be kind of a dream team because Omega and Tanahashi have done promos together talking about their match at 2019 Wrestle Kingdom... They were talking about their match and everything like that and then they were looking to team against The Young Bucks." [H/T - WrestlingInc.]

Popular AEW star gives positive update on Kenny Omega's health

Recently, a potential timeline for Kenny Omega's recovery and eventual comeback was revealed by one of his close friends, and this may be proof that his return is imminent.

Kota Ibushi was recently on Yuji Nagata's YouTube Channel as he briefly spoke about his friend's current health status. Ibushi revealed that The Cleaner had told him that he may be ready to return in about two to three months from now.

He also revealed that as of that moment, he was still not at 100% and his condition still bothered him.

With Wrestle Dynasty around three months from now, this fits well within the assumed timeline, but it remains to be seen whether the former AEW World Champion will be fit to compete. Fans will just have to stay tuned for the possible return of The Best Bout Machine.
