Former AEW personality says he is suing Tony Khan's promotion; reveals reason
Former AEW commentator Kevin Kelly has revealed that he plans to sue the Tony Khan-led company. He also disclosed the reason behind his decision.
Kevin Kelly joined All Elite Wrestling in June 2023 as part of the Collision commentary team alongside Nigel McGuinness and Jim Ross. He was fired in March 2024 after his Twitter/X rant on Ian Riccaboni.
On a recent edition of Wise Choices with Eric Bischoff, Kelly addressed the matter that led to his AEW firing. He began by saying everything was fine for him in All Elite Wrestling until Riccaboni allegedly tried sabotaging his career.
Kelly later started an online beef with Ian Riccaboni. He even asked AEW's HR department for help and was seemingly told that the matter would be handled privately. However, the 57-year-old was quietly released from his contract. The veteran color commentator added that he only desired an apology from Riccaboni.
When Bischoff asked whether he planned to sue AEW for being unjust to him, Kelly answered in the affirmative.
"Yeah, of course. [I] have to [sue AEW]. " [H/T: WrestlingInc.]

Kevin Kelly made bold comments about Tony Khan
Kevin Kelly recently attended a virtual signing for K&S WrestleFest. During the event, the veteran commented on how he felt working under Tony Khan in AEW.
"While I was there, it was a lot of, ‘Hurry up and wait for Tony Khan to make a decision.’ Because every decision went through him. You know, picking out the color of the paint on the wall, you know what I mean?” He has good people, he has tons of good people involved, why couldn’t he delegate more? Well, because (…) you have to ask him. And that’s where it is,” said Kelly.
Kelly has been in the pro wrestling business since 1991. He has worked for many popular promotions like WWE, Ring of Honor, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
