Former AEW star CJ Perry (fka Lana) asks for prayers after serious life update

Former WWE Superstar CJ Perry recently appealed to her fans for prayers after an unfortunate real-life update. She has been posting about her grandfather's deteriorating health recently.

The 39-year-old star made her AEW debut on September 2023 during the All Out Pay-Per-View. She was involved in a storyline with her ex-husband, Miro. However, within a few weeks, she was sidelined due to finger-related issues, for which she had to undergo surgery even. After months of no update from her, she later announced that her time in AEW was finished in July 2024.

For several days now, the former WWE star has been uploading updates about her grandfather being hospitalized after he fell down. She recently stated that he had to go to the Emergency Room for care.

CJ Perry shared another Instagram Story where she revealed her 93-year-old grandfather was fighting cancer and his health was declining. She asked her fans and followers to keep him in their prayers.

"The love my grandparents have for each other is out of this world!!!!!! My grandfather has been given 4-6 months to live but has been rapidly declining. He is 93 and his wife, my Nana, is 91 and she still lives at home!!! Please keep my Papa and Nana in your prayers. He is fighting cancer," she wrote.

CJ Perry wants to become like Paul Heyman

During her short stint at AEW, Perry was in search of clients whom she could manage. She managed Andrade for a couple of weeks before the latter returned to WWE.

While speaking with USA Today, the 39-year-old star claimed she wanted to become the next Paul Heyman in the wrestling industry as she was hunting talent who could become champions in the future. She felt she still had more to contribute to the business, and her role as a manager wasn't done yet.

"I'm really focused on finding talent and cultivating them and helping them become the best wrestler, champion possible, I guess you could say I want to be the Paul Heyman," she said.

It remains to be seen if CJ Perry will return to WWE for one more run.
