Former AEW World Champion is not medically cleared to return
A top AEW star is unclear to wrestle after a brutal match a few weeks ago. The star being discussed is none other than Swerve Strickland.
The Realest Star has elevated himself to the top in recent months. He won the AEW World Championship after defeating Samoa Joe at the Dynasty pay-per-view. He had a good run as the face of the company, defending the title against Will Ospreay, Christian Cage, and Roderick Strong in some of the classics.
Swerve Strickland dropped the championship to Bryan Danielson in the main event of All In 2024. Following the match, he was slated to face Hangman Page, who had been chasing Swerve for a long time. They met at All Out in an Unsanctioned Light Out Steel Cage match.
The duo engaged in a very violent contest at the event, as many weapons were used in the match. In the end, Hangman Page hit a massive chair shot to the Realest Star's head and picked up the victory. It was later reported that he took some time off from programming.
On Dynamite: Grand Slam, Swerve Strickland's manager, Prince Nana, revealed that the former AEW World Champion still hasn't been medically cleared after the brutal contest.
It will be interesting to see when The Realest Star will return to the Jacksonville-based promotion.
