Former AEW World Champion's Collision return announced after 251 days
AEW has booked one of its biggest names to appear on Collision in July 2024. The former World Champion has not shown up on the Saturday night program since last October.
The name being discussed is Maxwell Jacob Friedman. He made his shocking return to the company at Double or Nothing 2024. He recently defeated Rush and now has his sights set on Hechicero. The Salt of the Earth and the CMLL veteran will lock horns at Forbidden Door 2024.
AEW recently announced that MJF will appear on Collision for the first time in 251 days on July 6. The show will take place in Memphis, TN. Friedman last appeared on the program on October 28, 2023, defeating Kenny Omega in a World Title match.
"AEW have announced MJF for Collision in Memphis... 17 days in advance. Something big happening there?" a fan posted.
MJF is among the best talkers on the Jacksonville-based company's roster. Hence, fans will be excited to find out what The Salt of the Earth will have to say during his upcoming appearance on Collision.
Last year, Friedman's bout against Kenny Omega received widespread praise from fans worldwide. However, a WWE legend criticized the Tony Khan-led creative team for booking the high-profile bout on a TV show.
AEW's MJF gives an important health update after his return
MJF's return was a massive talking point in the pro wrestling world. He attacked his former friend, Adam Cole, at Double or Nothing 2024.
The former World Champion was recuperating from multiple injuries during his hiatus. In a recent interview with Fox 5, Friedman provided an important health update.
"I’m ready to go 110 million percent. I feel great. I look great. Let’s be honest. Can we get a shot of these guys? I mean, come on. I’m ready. I’m ready. I’m absolutely ready.”
It remains to be seen whether The Salt of the Earth can defeat Hechicero in a one-on-one match on June 30.
