Former Intercontinental Champion reacts to rumors of Ric Flair leaving AEW

Rumors have started doing the rounds that Ric Flair is leaving AEW. A former WWE Intercontinental Champion has reacted to these rumors.

Matt Cardona was the latest to weigh in on Flair potentially leaving AEW. Last year, Tony Khan announced that Flair had joined the Jacksonville-based promotion to be a part of Sting's retirement tour. The Nature Boy then made many appearances for the company and was heavily involved in the Stinger's final match. During the bout, the 75-year-old was on the receiving end of a superkick by The Young Bucks.

However, since that match, Flair has not made any appearances for the Tony Khan-led promotion, and his Wooo! Energy advertising boards have also been removed. Recently, reports emerged that mentioned that the veteran was potentially done with AEW.

In the midst of these reports, Matt Cardona took to social media to mention that the Major Wrestling Figures Podcast has some big plans for Flair at San Diego Comic-Con.

"Well @MajorWFPod has big plans for him at #SDCC," he wrote.

Bully Ray draws a comparison between John Cena and Ric Flair's World Title reigns

For several years, there has been a heavy debate about who was the greatest of all time. Many names make the cut, but when it comes to World Title reigns only two names stand on top - John Cena and Ric Flair. This has left fans torn between the two legends.

Speaking on his Busted Open Radio podcast, Bully Ray cleared the confusion by saying that Flair won World Titles all over the world while Cena only won the World Championships inside WWE. Hence, according to him, Flair was the greatest of all time.

"Ric Flair is the greatest professional wrestler of all time because he's done it all over the world. In my eyes, John Cena is already the greatest WWE Champion of all time, unless you do it all over the world, you cannot make the claim to being the greatest of anything of all time," said Ray.

While Ric Flair is already retired from in-ring competition, John Cena also recently announced that he will be retiring in 2025.
