Former Intercontinental Champion recalls watching an AEW Dynamite episode at the WWE HQ
A former Intercontinental Champion recently spoke about watching an episode of AEW Dynamite from the WWE Headquarters in 2019. The name in question is none other than Jeff Jarrett.
The WWE Hall of Famer was the Senior Vice President of Live Events in the Stamford-based promotion. However, he left the company in August 2022. Shortly after his departure, Jeff Jarrett signed with AEW and made his debut in November 2022. The legend recently recalled catching the first episode of Dynamite in October 2019 from the Stamford-based promotion's headquarters.
The first episode of AEW Dynamite took place in Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. on October 2, 2019. In a recent edition of his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett recalled watching the show with the WWE creative team members on the second floor of the Titan Towers.
"On the second floor of the ol’ Titan Towers, we got to gather around the TV and watch it. The freshness, obviously for me, it brought back so many memories since a non-WWE program had been on cable television in prime time. It took me back to whatever that may be, 2006, 2007 when we came on the air in the Spike days."
Double J continued:
"It goes without saying that AEW had came out of the gate — time flies. I was a part of All In when we did Starrcast there. I had been part of that and boom, you fast forward and a little over a year later and they’re all there." H/T:[Fightful]
WWE veteran Bobby Lashley would do great in AEW according to Jeff Jarrett
One of the most shocking departures of the year from WWE came recently when it was revealed that Bobby Lashley had left the Stamford-based promotion after his contract expired. The All Mighty has been teasing his next move on social media and with his former Hurt Business teammate, MVP's recent AEW debut, many believe Lashley could be next to debut in All Elite Wrestling.
In a recent edition of his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett said that he was a huge fan of Bobby Lashley during his time in TNA Wrestling and would love to see the former WWE Champion come to AEW. Double J claimed that Lashley would be a fantastic addition to the Jacksonville-based promotion.
"Bobby, in his career, has come a long way, and it goes without saying, I was a huge fan of his going way back, the TNA days, we'll call it the Impact/Anthem days, and certainly today," Jarrett said. "But, man, he would be a fantastic addition, I'll say that. Super athletic, looks great, carries himself like a champion, and from bell to bell, he can get it done." (H/T WrestlingINC)
MVP has been teasing the potential arrivals of Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin in All Elite Wrestling. It will be interesting to see how things shape up in the upcoming weeks.
