Former rival reveals unexpected AEW moment was Cody Rhodes' idea
A former rival revealed that an unexpected AEW moment was Cody Rhodes' idea. The former rival is José The Assistant.
Before returning to WWE, Cody Rhodes established himself as a main-event singles performer on the independent circuit. He was also instrumental in the founding of AEW and played a crucial role in its early success. During his time in the Jacksonville-based promotion, Rhodes was involved in many major storylines for the company.
One of those was with Andrade El Idolo who was also at the company at that time. During one of their encounters on AEW Dynamite, both men battled in an Atlanta Street Fight and it was memorable for many moments.
José The Assistant, Andrade's manager, came running to the ringside with a taser, in one of the memorable moments from the bout. However, before he could tase Rhodes, The American Nightmare hit him with a shovel. In the end, it was Cody who picked up the win.
A fan recently recalled this infamous moment on social media. José responded to the fan and credited Cody for the memorable moment.
"Agreed. Thanks to @CodyRhodes for that moment, his idea," he wrote.

Cody Rhodes sent a message to Triple H during a WWE live event
WWE has been more open in recent months to host premium live events outside the United States. The company has hosted some of its biggest PLEs in Wales, Scotland, France, and many other countries. However, one country which is yet to receive a PLE is Mexico.
During a recent WWE live event in Mexico City, Cody Rhodes got on the microphone and sent a message to Triple H urging him to host a premium live event in Mexico.
"If anyone deserves a PLE, it's right here in Mexico... Same way with France, same way with Italy, same way with Scotland. This man right there, that camera, on the other side of that camera is our boss, Triple H [the crowd starting chanting PLE]," he said.
Cody Rhodes is currently involved in a feud with The Bloodline after they recently attacked him. He is likely to face Solo Sikoa at The Biggest Event of the Summer next month with his world championship on the line.
