Former TNT Champion teases AEW return for Blood and Guts this year
A former AEW TNT Champion has teased a return for Blood and Guts later this year. This star has been away since February.
The star in question is none other than Sammy Guevara. He was TNT Champion three times and an interim champion once. Guevara has not been seen in AEW even since he was suspended for reckless wrestling after he accidentally injured Jeff Hardy and broke his nose.
However, he has now taken to Twitter to post a throwback picture from during his match at Blood and Guts from 2022 when he was part of the Jericho Appreciation Society. In that picture, Eddie Kingston is seen throwing Sammy Guevara off the top of the cage.
The interesting thing is that he did not write anything but only posted the picture, making it all the more cryptic towards his intention behind the post. The Blood and Guts Pay-Per-View will take place on July 24 this year.
Sammy Guevara's AEW suspension lifted
Sammy Guevara’s AEW suspension has been lifted and that could be one of the the reasons for his cryptic post. The former member of the Jericho Appreciation Society could be back anytime now.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that while Guevara is no longer suspended, no one knows details about his return date just yet.
"Sammy Guevara is no longer suspended, but there’s no word on when he’ll be cycled back into storylines. There has been stuff pitched, but nothing confirmed," the newsletter said. [H/T - Wrestling Observer Newsletter]
It would be great to see him come back and be involved in the in-ring action once again. Things have changed a lot since he has been away. His former mentor Chris Jericho has started a new stable and he could be a great addition to that team.
He could also make a comeback to challenge for the TNT Title that was vacated by Adam Copeland a few weeks back.
