Former WCW Champion firmly believes Samantha Irvin will join AEW in a new role - "I could see that in a heartbeat" (Exclusive)

AEW fans are speculating on another major hire this week after Samantha Irvin recently shocked the wrestling world by leaving WWE. The departure comes months after her fiancé, Ricochet, left the company for AEW. Amid rumors on Irvin potentially signing with Tony Khan's promotion, a certain wrestling legend has revealed why he thinks a lot of the Irvin talk is a work.

Irvin expressed interest in working other wrestling roles, perhaps as a manager or General Manager, noting that WWE saw no future for her besides as a ring announcer. Her relationship with Ricochet is no secret, and fans began speculating on Irvin's future as soon as he left WWE to go to AEW. The former American Idol participant planted the seed, and now fans are pushing for her to join The Highlight Of The Night in All Elite Wrestling.

Vince Russo is among those who believe Ricochet's fiancée will be aligned with him in the AEW storylines. On the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws, host Dr. Chris Featherstone asked Russo and EC3 about the rumors on Irvin, and if she has burnt bridges with her remarks as she was expected to get a big-money deal from AEW to be a ring announcer. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion revealed why he thinks it's all one big work.

"Bro, I think it's all a work. She talks about wanting to be a manager, and she wanted to be a [General Manager]... bro, can you not see her managing Ricochet at AEW? I could see that in a heartbeat, that's why I think this is one huge work," Vince Russo said. [From 1:03 to 1:20]

WWE signed Irvin to ring announce in April 2021 after she unsuccessfully tried out to be a wrestler at the Performance Center. She worked 205 Live, NXT, SmackDown, and RAW, as well as premium live events, where she once received major mainstream praise. The 35-year-old announced her departure on October 21.

New match set for AEW Collision

All Elite Wrestling will invade the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island on Thursday night for Collision. The episode will then air on Saturday in its normal TNT timeslot.

Nick Wayne vs. AR Fox has been announced for Collision. The match comes after Fox attacked Wayne while training last year. This will be the second singles bout between the two after Fox defeated Wayne in March 2022 at GCW Astronaut.

Officials previously announced The Outrunners vs. Top Flight for Collision as a part of the Full Gear Four-Way Contenders Series. The winners will join World Tag Team Champions Private Party at the upcoming Full Gear PPV in the title match that will also include FTR or House of Black, and The Acclaimed or La Facción Ingobernable.
