Former WWE Champion confirms he requires neck surgery; gives update on future

A former WWE Champion just provided an update regarding his future. He confirmed that he requires neck surgery.

Bryan Danielson mentioned a while ago that this would be the last year of his in-ring career, as he promised his daughter he would retire. Hence, he has spent the last year delivering some of the best standout matches possible. He has competed in some of the best matches of the year and has aspirations of becoming the World Champion one more time.

Former WWE Champion Bryan Danielson will get this chance when he faces Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at All In 2024 in a title vs. career match. Ahead of this highly anticipated match, Danielson sat down for an interview with Fightful, where he confirmed that getting neck surgery is at the top of his list of priorities when he retires. He then mentioned that he would help AEW in any way he could.

"Tony (Khan) and I have talked. I’ll always pick up the phone when he calls, if I’m by my phone. For example, he called me last night; it was 9:30 Pacific time, and I was already asleep. The first thing I’ll have to do when I’m done wrestling, the thing that is in my priority is to get my neck better, which probably involves some sort of neck surgery sooner rather than later. That will be my first order of business. Then, I’ll help AEW where I can. I love AEW. I want to help as much as I can, and as much as they want my help, I’m willing to participate." [H/T: Fightful]

Tommy Dreamer predicts that former WWE star Bryan Danielson's career will come to an end at AEW All In 2024

The highly anticipated match between former WWE stars Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland got a lot of people talking. Many fans are speculating about the results of the match.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer picked Strickland to end Danielson's career this weekend.

“Swerve puts the nail in Bryan Danielson’s coffin, and then he rides off to the sunset. End of the day, that match is going to be the end of the show. If he loses, you’re still going to get 45/50,000 people doing ‘Yes! Yes! Yes!’ Bryan Danielson crying, kissing Birdie, kissing Brie [Bella], saying goodbye to the wrestling business. There is no bad outcome. The only bad outcome is you don’t get to see Bryan Danielson wrestle anymore, which sucks.” [H/T: EWrestling News]

It remains to be seen if Swerve Strickland will be able to retain his title against the former WWE Champion.
