Former WWE Champion could be a game-changer for AEW, claims Hall of Famer (Exclusive)
Hall of Famer Teddy Long claimed that a former WWE Champion could be a game-changer for AEW. This is an interesting take and will no doubt give Tony Khan something to think about.
Over the years, many past and present stars have moved to work with Tony Khan, and now Teddy Long has vouched for another Hall of Famer, John "Bradshaw" Layfield, to go to AEW.
While speaking exclusively on Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Time Machine with host Mac Davis and Bill Apter, Long praised JBL's mic skills and said he would be a game-changer for All Elite Wrestling.
“I think JBL needs to be involved no matter what. He is in the ring, he is a good talent. The guy still can grit, and he is on color commentary. He still can talk. He does a good job with that. And JBL knows a lot about this business, and when a guy like him is behind the scenes helping the young talent, I think you can't go wrong there. So, I agree. I think JBL will be a good hit on talent relations.” [4:04 - 4:28]
Former WWE star JBL won't be messing around in AEW, says Teddy Long
In the same episode, Mac Davis sided with Teddy Long and said that former WWE Champion JBL would be great for AEW because he won't tolerate any kind of nonsense.
Teddy Long emphasized on that point and continued:
“He ain't going to take no mess from them that have been there and think they because they've been there all their life, you know they're gonna run everything. He ain't gonna take no sh*t from them either.” [04:36 - 04:43]
That is as strong an endorsement of a star as any, and there are legitimate reasons why the WWE Hall of Famer thinks that way. This could no doubt compel Tony Khan to give it a thought and see if he can bring over JBL to the company.
