Former WWE champion makes bold claim about his iconic match against Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes is the current Undisputed WWE Champion. But a few years ago, he used to work in AEW. During his time in the Tony Khan-led promotion, Cody faced his real-life half-brother, Dustin Rhodes, in a singles match at Double or Nothing 2019.

The brother vs. brother showdown was The Natural's debut match in AEW. He failed to beat The Amercian Nightmare. The bout was well received, as it was heavily praised by many critics and veterans.

A fan recently asked his fellow X/Twitter users for match suggestions since he wanted to introduce the world of pro wrestling to one of his friends.

"I have convinced my friend who has never watched a wrestling match to watch one match with me, please help me choose a good one," a fan wrote.

WWE veteran Dustin Rhodes noticed the tweet and suggested that the X/Twitter user show his friend the iconic bout between him and Cody Rhodes at Double or Nothing 2019.

"Dustin/Cody," he tweeted.

Former WWE star Dustin Rhodes hopes to wrestle at AEW Grand Slam: Australia

Dustin Rhodes signed a new multi-year contract extension with AEW in December 2024. This means he will be an active pro wrestler for a few more years.

A fan on X/Twitter recently asked Dustin whether he would wrestle at Grand Slam: Australia. The user added that he wished to see The Natural compete in person before retirement.

The fan asked, "Will we see you wrestle at grand slam Australia next month? Would love to see you wrestle before you lace them boots up."

Responding to the tweet, the ROH World Tag Team Champion mentioned that he hoped to be part of the much-awaited event.

"I hope so!! #AEWCollision," Dustin wrote.

AEW is set to hold the 2025 Grand Slam pay-per-view at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia, on Saturday, February 15.
