Former WWE manager on Britt Baker: "They need to send her home for a while" (Exclusive)
AEW star Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. recently made her return to the company after a staggering nine-month hiatus. She is scheduled to face Mercedes Moné at All In for the AEW TBS Championship. Unfortunately, earlier this month, she got suspended due to some of her reported backstage actions.
A little over a week back, it was revealed that Baker had a backstage incident with the Jacksonville-based company's American Champion, MJF. Allegedly, she made a few comments about the 28-year-old and his girlfriend, Alicia Atout, while being backstage at Dynamite: 250. After a disciplinary committee investigated the matter, the former AEW Women's World Champion was fined and suspended for 1-2 weeks.
On a recent appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk podcast, WWE veteran Dutch Mantel expressed his thoughts about the above-mentioned situation. Even though he was not pleased about the incident, he believes that the company should "send her home for a while."
"Britt Baker getting suspended in AEW. Who is on that disciplinary committee? I hate to see this [when a wrestler gets suspended]. But if they were going to do that to Britt, I think they need to send her home for a while. And see what happens." [From 35:20 to 37:20]
Britt Baker recently revealed that she suffered from TIA
On an episode of Dynamite last month, Baker delivered a touching promo where she revealed the reasons for her prolonged absence from regular programming.
She said that she suffered from TIA which prevented her from doing menial tasks such as opening a bottle of water.
"To sum this story up, I spent a week in the hospital with a diagnosis of a TIA, which is a transient ischemic attack," she said.
It remains to be seen how Baker's current run in AEW will pan out.
