Former WWE star makes a bold claim on AEW Rampage; gets called out immediately
A former WWE Superstar announced a new schtick for an AEW star on Rampage tonight. The star being discussed is Stokely Hathaway. He currently manages Kris Statlander.
Stokely worked for WWE from 2019 to 2022 and managed Diamond Mine on the NXT brand, before joining AEW in 2022. The 33-year-old star then guided The Firm, which included Big Bill, Lee Moriarty, Austin Gunn, Billy Gunn, and Ethan Page. However, the faction dissolved after a few months.
Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathway betrayed Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing and turned heel in the process. Since then, Kris has transformed herself into an indestructible force. She has been squashing opponents on Rampage and Collision in recent weeks.
On tonight's edition of Rampage, the former TBS Champion entered the ring for a match against Sydni Winnell. While entering the ring, Stokely announced "Every night is a Staturday night," in a play on words of her name, Statlander. However, the commentators believed he mistakenly called Friday a 'Saturday' and misunderstood the seemingly new gimmick for the star.
Kris Statlander later went on to defeat the enhancement talent in a squash match, adding another victory to her record.
It will be interesting to see what is next for her as All In 2024 is next month and if she has a match on the card.
